Dr. Gretchen Cotton-Rodney

Dr. Gretchen Cotton Rodney is a results-oriented educational leader and public school administrator with over two decades of experience in curriculum enhancement and strategic planning. Currently serving as the Director for ELA and Reading K-12 for the Huntington UFSD, she specializes in implementing literacy programs grounded in the Science of Reading to ensure student mastery.


With a career that includes roles as Executive Director for Elementary Education and School Principal, Dr. Rodney is a proven expert in professional development, program expansion, and the restructuring of grant funding to maximize instructional effectiveness. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from St. John's University, an MBA, and a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies, and her research on educational leadership has been published in the AASA Journal. A dedicated advocate for community engagement and student success, she focuses on fostering cultures of dignity and growth mindsets within the school systems she serves.
